Program Benefactors

As a professional degree program that strives to provide our students with an education that best equips them for industrial research it is important that we remain up-to-date on the latest procedures and equipment used in the Bioprocessing, pharmaceutical, and biotech setting. We would like to recognize the companies below for their contribution to our program and our students.

2007
PDL BioPharma has provided Northwestern University’s Master’s in Biotechnology Program (MBP) with a generous charitable gift.  PDL is a leader in the discovery, development, and marketing of innovative therapies for serious or life-threatening illnesses with a portfolio of acute care hospital products.  The gift from PDL will support the development of MBP laboratory courses enabling students to gain hands-on experience with the latest procedures for upstream and downstream protein production.

2007
Pfizer
, a research based global pharmaceutical company, has presented Northwestern University’s Master’s in Biotechnology program with a significant financial contribution.  Pfizer discovers, develops, manufactures and markets leading prescription medicines for humans and animals, and many of the world's best-known consumer products.  It is estimated that on any given day, 40 million people around the world are treated with a Pfizer medicine.  The Pfizer donation is an unrestricted grant that will be used to equip a state of the art protein purification laboratory and to sponsor annual academic performance awards for MBP students.
