Student Research

MBP students undergo rigorous research training (at least 1000 total hours) in a research preceptor’s laboratory. Students may select projects in life sciences, biological engineering, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, biomaterials sciences, and clinical research.


Preceptors evaluate quarterly written progress reports and peer-reviewed oral presentations similar to those conducted in industry. Students complete and present a final report modeled after a technical journal article in lieu of a thesis.
