Welcome!
The Master of Biotechnology Program (MBP) at Northwestern University stresses the interdisciplinary nature of the biotechnology industry by combining an integrated curriculum of modern biology and bioprocess engineering courses with in-depth biotechnology research projects directed by distinguished faculty preceptors from many Northwestern departments. An industrial internship track provides the opportunity for in-depth pratical experience. We are proud of the advantage that our Master of Science in Biotechnology degree program provides in preparing chemists, biologists and engineers for careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. MBP students and alumni pursue diverse career opportunities with the assistance of a full-time industrial liaison. Our industrial advisory board provides advice and contributes speakers for seminar on the legal, regulatory, business, and ethical aspects of biotechnology. Northwestern offers a superb environment for research and training in the life sciences, engineering, and biotechnology. This web site provides an overview of the MS Program including degree requirements and course descriptions. I hope that you will consider visiting our campus just north of Chicago on Lake Michigan and submitting an on-line application for admission. The MBP faculty, staff and I are here to assist you in all steps of the process. If you have any questions please contact us at mbp@northwestern.edu.
